Hello, dear readers! Today, I want to share a delightful experience I had while diving into the world of pets and the wisdom they bring into our lives. As I sat down to record my thoughts, I encountered a little hiccup with my phone’s recording feature—apparently, it has a mind of its own, saving my video at half speed and without sound! So, here I am, narrating my thoughts after the fact, but I promise you, the message is still vibrant and full of life.
The topic of the day? Pets! I kicked things off by lighting some palo santo, inviting the best life has to offer into our space. The sweet aroma filled the air, setting a perfect backdrop for our exploration of the animal kingdom. I followed that up with a thick sage bundle, ready to cleanse and embrace all the rest that life has to offer. It was a moment of gratitude, a reminder of the love and companionship our pets provide.
As I shuffled my cards, I pulled one that immediately caught my eye—a card depicting wings. My mind raced with possibilities: could it represent our feathered friends, the birds? Or perhaps it was a nod to the freedom and joy they symbolize in our lives. But then, I noticed a fiery element in the card, which led me to think about reptiles—those fascinating creatures that crawl and slither, like lizards and salamanders. They embody transformation and adaptability, much like our own journeys with our pets.
I pondered the idea that maybe this reading was for someone who loves both birds and reptiles. After all, pets come in all shapes and sizes, and each one brings its own unique energy into our lives. As I drew a second card, I was reminded of the wisdom of animals, a theme that resonated deeply with me. I recalled a beautiful book I recently read, "Braiding Sweetgrass," which highlights the profound lessons we can learn from the non-human world around us.
Then came the third card, which featured fish—a reminder of the aquatic companions we may have or the fluidity of life itself. It dawned on me that this reading encompassed all creatures: the flying, the crawling, and the swimming. Each one plays a vital role in our ecosystem and in our hearts.
Finally, I pulled a card adorned with a big, beautiful heart. This was the cherry on top of our reading! It felt like a clear message to us all: let’s celebrate the animals in our lives. Let’s connect with them, share our love, and receive their boundless affection in return. Our pets teach us about loyalty, joy, and the simple pleasures of life.
As I wrapped up my session, I felt a wave of gratitude wash over me. I took a moment to light the palo santo again, reminding myself of the best life has to offer, and followed it up with sage for all the rest. It was a beautiful ritual, one that grounded me in the present and connected me to the love I share with my pets.
So, dear friends, let’s take a moment to appreciate our furry, feathered, and scaly companions. They enrich our lives in ways we often overlook. Whether it’s a wagging tail, a gentle purr, or a curious gaze, our pets remind us to embrace love and connection. Here’s to celebrating them—today and every day!

Well, for those of you out there who think this there's a right way and a wrong
way to do this, you are going to be sorely disappointed. Apparently my amazing
cell phone has a feature in it which I can record audio or video at regular
speed, but then it saves it at half speed, but then it gets rid of the audio.
Clearly not helpful. Look, I'm sitting here afterwards recording the audio, and
it's a third Saturday. You've already noticed there's been no smudge. And here
I am opening up the piece of paper. I'm basically narrating the audio after
effect. And this week's topic is pets. Oo wee pets. What a delightful deal.
Then I say, hey, let's go ahead and get us a little smoke going. Let's palo
santo for the best life has to offer.

And it's gonna take a little minute here and only give it a time. We take our
time with it. We wait for it to release a little smoke and with it's beautiful,
delicious, sweet smell that's all about the best life has to offer. And then we
follow it up with our thick fat sage bundle for all the rest that life has to
offer. Boy, looking at this video, you can't even tell that it's in some kind
of spirit special pan mode. What even does it mean, pan mode? I'm not entirely
sure. I just know it's totally not helpful for my purposes. And then, look at
this. I just go right into getting ready to read. Is he gonna shuffle? No, he
is not. Isn't that wonderful? Well, friends, guess what? I shuffle after every
time I do this.

So here we are with pets, and I've pulled a card and I see wings. And I think,
okay, bird animals, perhaps flying air creatures. Maybe your pet is a bird. I
think the focus will be. But then I notice that fire over there, and I think,
wait a minute now. Fire reminds me of the salamander, the lizard, the skink. Is
that even a real word for that animal? I don't know. Everything that does crawl
on its belly or slither like a snake, especially those reptiles. They got that
fire energy going on. They transform like the way the chameleon is a lizard.
But there we've got those wings again. So we've got birds. I'm thinking maybe
this is for someone who collects birds and reptiles. Who knows? Let's see what
a second card will show us.

Oh, and there it is, a card we've seen before. And I was looking at it, trying
to think, oh, what does it have to do with pets. And then I remembered this
whole the wisdom of birds and reptiles. And in that moment I was reminded
there's a beeping happening in the background. Just ignore it. I was reminded
that there is a wisdom of the animals. And I was recently reminded this while
reading a beautiful book called Braiding Sweetgrass, I believe it's called.
Fantastic read of indigenous people's wisdom about plants and animals. That
whole non human world that is, you know, there's just so much to be learned
from animals. And I kind of reflected again, well, what is it? Bird or. Or
belly crawling creature? And then I pulled, oh, look at that again. That old
car that reminds us of our Pisces.

But most importantly this time it's fish. And I'm kind of looking like, okay,
so what now? We've got. We've got birds, we've got fish. And I realized, oh,
we've got all the creatures represented here. Flying things in the air,
crawling things on the ground, and water, swimming things. And then what's this
final card we pull? Look at that big old heart. I think the rest of this month
or until our next third week, I think the point is, hey, let's celebrate these
animals in our lives. Let's connect with them, share love with them, receive
love from them. And then beep, beep. Look at that, our little timer's going
off. So that's cutting time. And I say, you know what, hold on a hot second,
why don't we.

Since we've had all this trouble, let's go ahead this week and remember to do
our smudge before we're done. How about it, huh? There we go. We light our palo
santo for the best life has to offer. We're so grateful for that. Takes a
little minute to get it going as it often does, but wow, look at that flame go
afterwards. And we follow that up with sage for the rest that life has to
offer. We're so grat. We're so grateful. Look at that close up of my hand too.
I hope you enjoyed that. I don't know in the end how I'm gonna get these two
things to both go on the Internet, but I guess we'll see. Trust that I will
try.
